Welcome to the TMS Enterprise and TMS Lite frequently asked questions page. If your questions are not answered on this page
please contact us.
Do I have to redo my existing
documents?
No! TMS provides users with an indexing system that will work with your
current environment. With TMS you can use any word processor, CAD
system, Flowcharting software or Spreadsheets, as long as they are
Windows based applications.
Does TMS Enterprise require Microsoft Access
databases?
No.
TMS uses Microsoft Access as its database and the application is
written using Microsoft Visual Basic. Because TMS is designed for
an open architecture, however, TMS tables can be integrated with other
databases you may be using.
What type of platform does TMS
Enterprise run
on?
TMS runs on Windows 2000, WindowsXP and Windows
Vista. You can
have all four platforms running on different PCs and have the database
on a network (TMS Enterprise). Programs and the TMS database can be located
on a file server.
Can I use other Windows based
products with TMS Enterprise?
Yes, TMS is an indexing system which
complements your existing environment. Upgrading your application
software, (whether its a Word Processor, Engineering Software or other)
won't lock you in and force you to use an unfamiliar environment.
What kind of support is available
for TMS Enterprise?
With the purchase of TMS Enterprise and two day Foundation class,
you will receive one year of support. This support includes toll
free hot line support, upgrades and input into product enhancements.
With TMS Lite, support services are available for 30 days and can
be extended for an additional charge.
Other services available include: Installation and Training Services, Document Conversion, Template Design, Project Management, Document Writing, Document Implementation, Implementation Design
and Delivery, Validation Services,
and Word Training.
How much training is involved?
A typical TMS Foundation class is two full days with open attendance.
However, we do find that working one-on-one with the document
administrators is the best approach for our clients. QSI can
provide management with a 2-3 hour overview to introduce the system to
individuals that will be using it as a Read Only User. During the
Foundation Class, the software is installed and the IT manager is
introduced to the TMS environment.
